In 2019, I was invited to speak at the BSI’s “Digital World: BIM” conference. This event brought together architects, contractors, consultants, technologists and academics to discuss the future of Building Information Modelling.
Rather than talk about the technical features and potential of BIM, I gave a presentation focused on how to use BIM and other digital technologies to change perceptions of the industry – to encourage a new generation that construction is modern, forward-thinking and digital.
This was a call-to-action; encouraging business leaders to change their recruitment and promotional practices in order to build a more diverse and technically astute industry.
